The Mass is celebrated in Latin with Gregorian chant. Booklets are available containing an English translation of the ceremony. The traditional Requiem Mass is one of the most moving experiences of our Catholic faith.

Adult Theology Talk
The theme of the Adult Theology series this year is “Our Life In Christ: Introduction to Catholic Moral Teaching.” This Faith Formation program is free of charge and is open to all. The purpose is to give Catholic adults of all ages a deeper understanding of the faith than they may have received from simple catechism study earlier in life, and to give interested non-Catholics an in-depth introduction to the Catholic faith. The class is taught by our parish priest.
After learning last time about the Moral Law in general, this Tuesday’s talk will be about “Sin: An Obstacle to the Love of God.” Topics addressed include: How do we know if something is a sin? Is sin just a technicality? Is Christian morality just a question of avoiding sin? Why does mortal sin separate us from God? Where does temptation come from?
The parish provides warm and cold beverages. Please feel free to bring a snack to share! This class meets downstairs in the church hall. Catholics and non-Catholics are welcome to attend.
This will be the last meeting of the calendar year.

Evening Prayer w/School Sisters of Notre Dame
The North American Vocation Team (NAVT) of the School Sisters of Notre Dame (SSND) invites young adults ages 18 and older to a monthly online evening prayer on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) via Zoom. Upcoming dates for evening prayer are September 26, October 24 and November 28. More information and registration for the Zoom links is available at ssnd.org/events/.
The online prayer typically lasts about an hour. Participants experience evening prayer in the rhythm of the Liturgy of the Hours interspersed with faith sharing and/or other prayer styles such as Lectio Divina, Taizé or Contemplative prayer.
“Since 2020, our online evening prayer has allowed us to connect regularly with sisters and young adults all across the U.S. and Canada,” said Sister Bridget Waldorf of the NAVT. “We enjoy sharing our daily communal prayer with those who are seeking to better recognize and understand God’s presence in their lives.”
The NAVT accompanies young adults as they discern God’s call while informing them about religious life and especially the mission and charism of SSND, an international community of almost 2,000 women religious founded in Bavaria in 1833. Learn more at ssnd.org.

Order of Malta Auxilary Kickoff- Friendsgiving
Our goal this year is to energize and build our Auxiliary so that we can serve more people. This starts with our kickoff “Friendsgiving” event on November 30th at 6 p.m. at Malta House (139 W Rocks Rd, Norwalk, CT 06851). This includes:
- Mass at 6 p.m. is concelebrated by two of our amazing young priests – Fr. Chris Ford and Fr. Ferry Galbert
- “Friendsgiving” Dinner to follow
The goal of this first family-friendly event (kids are welcome–our 3 and 5 year old boys will be there!) is to make it fun! We are asking you to forward this to any potential Auxiliary members and ask you to please attend. Having our Auxiliary meet current Knights and Dames is the surest way for us to get them excited about Malta.
The event is free – but if you would like to bring something, we instead encourage you to make a donation to the Malta House. Please email ageorgepuskar@fordham.edu so that we have an accurate headcount for food and wine- and we will send you the official invitation!
